A bill for an act
 relating to education finance; appropriating money to Independent School District
No. 318, Grand Rapids, for facilities improvements.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 318, GRAND RAPIDS;
SOUTHWEST ELEMENTARY APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of education for a grant to Independent School District No. 318, Grand Rapids, to predesign,
design, construct, furnish, and equip the renovation of Southwest Elementary School in the
city of Grand Rapids to consolidate district programs and collocate offices and space for
the area learning center, community education, special education, and district administration
into a single facility. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until the project is
completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
