  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to finance; authorizing the Minneapolis park 
  1.3             and recreation board to lease certain property for the 
  1.4             repayment of certain state bond expenditures. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [LEASE OF MINNEAPOLIS PARK AND RECREATION BOARD 
  1.7   LAND.] 
  1.8      The Minneapolis park and recreation board may solicit bids 
  1.9   for and may lease that portion of property known as the Fuji Ya 
  1.10  restaurant that was acquired but not used to construct the Great 
  1.11  River Road project for the purpose of operating a commercial 
  1.12  food or entertainment facility that is compatible and consistent 
  1.13  with a location adjacent to the Mississippi River.  If the park 
  1.14  board leases the property for such purpose, notwithstanding the 
  1.15  provisions of Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.695, and relevant 
  1.16  orders of the commissioner of finance, the park board shall 
  1.17  reimburse the state $158,284.04, the amount of the grant the 
  1.18  state made for the entire project and shall not be required to 
  1.19  sell the property or make any other payment to another 
  1.20  governmental unit.  Any funds received under this section shall 
  1.21  be deposited in the appropriate fund by the commissioner of 
  1.22  finance. 
  1.23     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.24     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
