  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to pollution control standards; establishing 
  1.3             a standard limiting phosphorus in rivers and streams; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 115.44, by 
  1.5             adding a subdivision.  
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 115.44, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 9.  [PHOSPHORUS STANDARD.] The agency must adopt a 
  1.10  phosphorus limitation standard of one milligram per liter for 
  1.11  rivers and streams. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.13     Section 1 is effective January 1, 2002.
