A bill for an act
relating to health; appropriating funds for grants to support a continuum of care
for individuals with substance use disorders.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $800,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of human services for grants to recovery community organizations to train,
hire, and supervise peer specialists to work with underserved populations as part of the
continuum of care for substance use disorders. Recovery community organizations located
in Rochester, Moorhead, and the Twin Cities metropolitan area are eligible to receive grant
funds. The base appropriation for fiscal years 2018 and 2019 is $800,000 for each year.

commissioner of human services for a grant to recovery community organizations to create
and implement a public relations campaign specific to reducing the stigma associated
with substance use disorders. Recovery community organizations located in Rochester,
Moorhead, and the Twin Cities metropolitan area are eligible to receive grant funds.
