new text begin Veterans Victory Memorial Drive, the dividing
line between Minneapolis and Robbinsdale, is the longest memorial in this nation to the
fallen service members of World War I, and was once so well known internationally that
Marshal Foch, commander of the French forces during World War I, attended a special
ceremony held on this site for the fallen service members from that war. Innumerable
ceremonies for all deceased veterans have been held on this stately boulevard throughout
the many ensuing decades.
