A bill for an act
 relating to public safety; appropriating money for a grant to the Metropolitan
Emergency Services Board.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin METROPOLITAN EMERGENCY SERVICES BOARD GRANT;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $4,450,000 in fiscal year 2024 and $68,000 in fiscal year 2025 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of public safety for a grant to the Metropolitan
Emergency Services Board. Of the amount in fiscal year 2024, $100,000 is to support
implementation of computer-aided dispatch interoperability; $3,700,000 is to purchase
bidirectional amplifiers; and $650,000 is to conduct a statewide public safety answering
point mapping project for public schools. $68,000 in fiscal year 2025 is for ongoing
maintenance of the statewide mapping project.
