  1.1                          A bill for an act

  1.3             requirements for relocation of a main office; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 47.101, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 47.101, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4.  [HOME BANK PROTECTION.] No relocation of a main 
  1.10  office of a banking institution to a municipality having a 
  1.11  population of 10,000 or less may occur unless all the banks 
  1.12  having a principal office in the municipality have consented in 
  1.13  writing to the relocation.
