A bill for an act
relating to higher education; appropriating money for the University of
Minnesota and Mayo Foundation Partnership.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA AND MAYO
FOUNDATION PARTNERSHIP.

new text begin $1,500,000 is appropriated from the general fund for fiscal year 2013 to the Board
of Regents of the University of Minnesota for the direct and indirect expenses of the
University of Minnesota and Mayo Foundation Partnership's Decade of Discovery
initiative for the prevention, treatment, and cure of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. This
appropriation is in addition to the appropriation in Laws 2011, First Special Session
chapter 5, article 1, section 5, subdivision 5, paragraph (e), and does not cancel but
is available until spent.
