  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing aid for adults with 
  1.3             disabilities; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND 
  1.7   LEARNING.] The sums indicated in this section are appropriated 
  1.8   from the general fund to the department of children, families, 
  1.9   and learning for the fiscal years designated. 
  1.10     Subd. 2.  [ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES PROGRAM AID.] For 
  1.11  adults with disabilities programs according to Minnesota 
  1.12  Statutes, section 124D.56: 
  1.13       $750,000       .....     2000 
  1.14       $750,000       .....     2001 
  1.15     Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is 
  1.16  available in the second year. 
  1.17     Of this amount, $40,000 each year may be used to continue 
  1.18  pilot programs started with funding under Laws 1997, chapter 
  1.19  162, article 2, section 31, subdivision 4.  Of this amount, 
  1.20  $40,000 each year in fiscal year 2000 and 2001 may be used to 
  1.21  start pilot programs in regions of the state that do not 
  1.22  currently have programs for adults with disabilities.  Pilot 
  1.23  programs may not levy for fiscal year 1999 or later.  This is a 
  1.24  one-time appropriation and is not added to the base.
