A bill for an act
relating to transportation; creating exemption for hours of service requirements
for intrastate transport of heating fuel during an emergency; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2022, section 221.0269, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 221.0269, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin If a regional emergency has been
declared by the President of the United States or by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration pursuant to United States Code, title 49, section 390.23(a), the federal
regulations incorporated into section 221.0314, subdivision 9, for hours of service do not
apply to drivers engaged in intrastate transportation of heating fuel.
