  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to amateur sports; appropriating money to the 
  1.3             Minnesota amateur sports commission for a grant to the 
  1.4             national volleyball center in Rochester; requiring 
  1.5             matching in-kind grants. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $2,500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   Minnesota amateur sports commission for a grant to the city of 
  1.10  Rochester for expansion and improvement of the national 
  1.11  volleyball center.  The grant must be matched by in-kind 
  1.12  contributions from the city of Rochester and independent school 
  1.13  district No. 535, Rochester, in the form of land, parking 
  1.14  facilities, or other infrastructure additions or improvements.  
  1.15  The purpose of the grant is to expand opportunities for athletic 
  1.16  programs aimed primarily at youth and to encourage tourism in 
  1.17  southeastern Minnesota.
