  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to taxation; reenacting certain provisions of 
  1.3             Laws 1997, chapter 231, relating to tax classification 
  1.4             provisions for certain housing facilities, tax 
  1.5             increment financing, and tax abatement and providing 
  1.6             for retroactive application.  
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [CERTAIN TAXES.] 
  1.9      The provisions of Laws 1997, chapter 231, article 1, 
  1.10  sections 4, 5, 6, 8, and 15, are reenacted. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  [TAX ABATEMENT.] 
  1.12     The provisions of Laws 1997, chapter 231, article 2, 
  1.13  sections 45 to 48, inclusive, are reenacted. 
  1.14     Sec. 3.  [TAX INCREMENT.] 
  1.15     The provisions of Laws 1997, chapter 231, article 10, are 
  1.16  reenacted. 
  1.17     Sec. 4.  [EFFECTIVE DATES.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective retroactive for taxes payable in 
  1.19  1999 and thereafter.  Section 2 is effective retroactive for the 
  1.20  1997 assessment and thereafter, for taxes payable in 1998 and 
  1.21  thereafter.  Section 3 is effective retroactive to the dates 
  1.22  specified in Laws 1997, chapter 231, article 10, section 25.
