A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating additional money to the Minnesota
job creation fund for businesses in the industrial hemp industry.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $4,000,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $4,000,000 in fiscal year 2021 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for the
Minnesota job creation fund under Minnesota Statutes, section 116J.8748, to fund businesses
in the industrial hemp industry. Of this amount, each year, $2,500,000 is for businesses that
process industrial hemp and the remainder is for businesses that manufacture products from
processed industrial hemp. This is a onetime appropriation in addition to any other funds
appropriated to the commissioner of employment and economic development for the
Minnesota job creation fund and these funds are available until June 30, 2023.
