A bill for an act
relating to education finance; creating a one-year transition aid payment for
school districts no longer receiving wind energy production tax revenue;
appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TRANSITION AID; WIND ENERGY.

new text begin For fiscal year 2010 only, a school district's wind energy transition aid equals the
amount of its wind energy production tax offset by the county apportionment deduction
under Minnesota Statutes, section 126C.21, subdivision 3.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $161,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2010 from the general fund to the
commissioner of education for the purposes of section 1.
