A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for an east metropolitan
area technology center.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2021 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to
the Asian Economic Development Association. Grant funds must be used to develop a
technology center in the east metropolitan area serving marginalized communities. Amounts
appropriated do not lapse and are available until June 30, 2022.
