  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to economic development finance; 
  1.3             appropriating money for economic development grants. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $3,115,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of trade and economic development in each year of 
  1.8   the biennium.  Of this amount, $450,000 in each year of the 
  1.9   biennium is for a grant to Advantage Minnesota; $95,000 in each 
  1.10  year of the biennium is for grants to county and district 
  1.11  agricultural societies and associations that are eligible to 
  1.12  receive aid under Minnesota Statutes, section 38.02; $250,000 in 
  1.13  each year of the biennium is for technical assistance under 
  1.14  Minnesota Statutes, section 116J.8745; $250,000 in each year of 
  1.15  the biennium is for grants to the board of the rural policy and 
  1.16  development center for operation of the center; $155,000 in each 
  1.17  year of the biennium is for grants to the metropolitan economic 
  1.18  development association; $265,000 in each year of the biennium 
  1.19  is for grants to WomenVenture; $500,000 in each year of the 
  1.20  biennium is for grants to the St. Paul rehabilitation center for 
  1.21  its current programs; $100,000 in each year of the biennium is 
  1.22  for grants to community development corporations that target 
  1.23  Asian-Pacific Minnesotans in Ramsey and Hennepin counties; 
  1.24  $50,000 in each year of the biennium is for community 
  2.1   development corporation grants; and $1,000,000 in each year of 
  2.2   the biennium is for grants under the community resources program.
