  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Benton county; authorizing a conveyance 
  1.3             for no or nominal consideration to the Benton county 
  1.4             historical society. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CONVEYANCE.] 
  1.7      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 373.01, 
  1.8   subdivision 1, or other law, Benton county may convey to the 
  1.9   Benton county historical society the land described in paragraph 
  1.10  (b) for no or nominal consideration.  The land was previously 
  1.11  conveyed to the historical society but reverted to the county 
  1.12  when the historical society's building was not completed by the 
  1.13  date necessary to avoid reverter.  The building has been built 
  1.14  and the conveyance is necessary to clear up title to the 
  1.15  building and the land it is built on. 
  1.16     (b) The land to be conveyed is legally described as:  Lots 
  1.17  Four (4), Five (5) and Six (6), Block Twenty-eight (28) in the 
  1.18  original TOWN OF SAUK RAPIDS, also so much of the Westerly 
  1.19  one-half of the vacated portion of Third Avenue North lying 
  1.20  Easterly thereof and contiguous thereto, according to the plat 
  1.21  and survey thereof on file and of record in the office of the 
  1.22  County Recorder in and for said Benton County, Minnesota. 
  1.23     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.24     Section 1 is effective the day after its final enactment.  
  1.25  No local approval is required.
