relating to early childhood education; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $10,000,000 for fiscal year 2010 is appropriated from the federal American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Public Law 111-5, to the commissioner of education
for the purposes of after-school community learning programs under Minnesota Statutes,
section 124D.2211. The balance of the appropriation does not cancel but is available in
fiscal year 2011. Of this appropriation, up to two percent may be used for administration,
up to three percent may be used for quality improvement and evaluation, and up to
$250,000 may be used for a statewide transportation study to increase access to these
programs for children and youth across the state.
