  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; exempting certain nursing 
  1.3             facilities from certain therapy services billing 
  1.4             requirements; appropriating money; amending Minnesota 
  1.5             Statutes 2000, section 256B.433, subdivision 3a. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 256B.433, 
  1.8   subdivision 3a, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 3a.  [EXEMPTION FROM REQUIREMENT FOR SEPARATE THERAPY 
  1.10  BILLING.] The provisions of subdivision 3 do not apply to 
  1.11  nursing facilities that are reimbursed according to the 
  1.12  provisions of section 256B.431 and are located in a county 
  1.13  participating in the prepaid medical assistance program.  
  1.14  Nursing facilities that are reimbursed according to the 
  1.15  provisions of section 256B.434 and are located in a county 
  1.16  participating in the prepaid medical assistance program are 
  1.17  exempt from the maximum therapy rent revenue provisions of 
  1.18  subdivision 3, paragraph (c). 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.20     $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.21  commissioner of human services for the biennium beginning July 
  1.22  1, 2001, for the purposes of section 1 and shall be immediately 
  1.23  available. 
  1.24     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.25     Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  2.1   enactment.
