A bill for an act
relating to human services; appropriating money for the Minnesota Security
Hospital.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MINNESOTA SECURITY HOSPITAL; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $10,349,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $15,049,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated
from the general fund to the commissioner of human services under Minnesota Statutes,
section 253.20, to enhance clinical direction and support to direct care staff treating and
managing clients at the Minnesota Security Hospital and to increase current staffing levels
at the Minnesota Security Hospital to provide the appropriate level of care to clients in a
safe, secure, and therapeutic treatment environment. The base amount for these activities
is $18,206,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $21,076,000 in fiscal year 2021.
