  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; excluding the raw food 
  1.3             cost adjustment from certain nursing facility rate 
  1.4             computations; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.5             section 256B.431, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 256B.431, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 31.  [EXCLUSION OF RAW FOOD COST ADJUSTMENT.] For 
  1.10  rate years beginning on or after July 1, 2001, in calculating a 
  1.11  nursing facility's operating cost per diem for the purposes of 
  1.12  constructing an array of nursing facility payment rates to be 
  1.13  used to determine future rate increases under this section, 
  1.14  section 256B.434, or any other section, the commissioner shall 
  1.15  exclude adjustments for raw food costs under subdivision 2b, 
  1.16  paragraph (h), that are related to providing special diets based 
  1.17  on religious beliefs.
