  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; modifying the group 
  1.3             residential housing supplementary service rate for 
  1.4             certain facilities serving persons with mental illness 
  1.5             or chemical dependency; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.6             2000, section 256I.05, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 256I.05, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 1f.  [SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICE RATE FOR CERTAIN 
  1.11  FACILITIES.] Notwithstanding the provisions of subdivisions 1a 
  1.12  and 1c, beginning July 1, 2001, a county agency must negotiate, 
  1.13  as provided in this subdivision, a supplementary service rate in 
  1.14  addition to the rate specified in subdivision 1, for a group 
  1.15  residential housing provider that: 
  1.16     (1) is located in St. Louis county; 
  1.17     (2) operates in two separate locations: 
  1.18     (i) an 18-bed facility that was licensed and registered by 
  1.19  the department of health under section 157.17 in May 1995 and 
  1.20  receives a supplementary service rate under subdivision 1d; and 
  1.21     (ii) a 32-bed facility that was licensed and registered by 
  1.22  the department of health under section 157.17 in July 1997; and 
  1.23     (3) serves persons with mental illness or chemical 
  1.24  dependency. 
  1.25     The supplementary service rate for the 32-bed facility 
  1.26  under clause (2), item (ii), must be an amount equal to the 
  2.1   supplementary rate that was negotiated under subdivision 1d for 
  2.2   an 18-bed facility under clause (2), item (i).
