  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing a grant for a full 
  1.3             day daily kindergarten program; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [FULL DAY DAILY KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM GRANT.] 
  1.6      The following sums are appropriated from the general fund 
  1.7   to the department of children, families, and learning in the 
  1.8   fiscal years designated for a grant to independent school 
  1.9   district No. 316, Greenway, for a full day daily kindergarten 
  1.10  program that prepares children for first grade by emphasizing 
  1.11  language development and appropriate preliteracy experiences, a 
  1.12  balance of individual and small and large group experiences, and 
  1.13  development of social skills including conflict management: 
  1.14       $50,000        .....     2000 
  1.15       $50,000        .....     2001 
  1.16     This appropriation is available until June 30, 2001. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
