  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [URBAN EDUCATOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.] 
  1.6      The following sums are appropriated from the general fund 
  1.7   to the department of children, families, and learning in the 
  1.8   fiscal years designated for grants to urban educator 
  1.9   professional development programs that prepare teachers to 
  1.10  address the needs of socially and culturally diverse learners in 
  1.11  urban classrooms: 
  1.12       $600,000     .....     2000
  1.13       $600,000     .....     2001
  1.14     This appropriation is available until June 30, 2001. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
