  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; modifying registration 
  1.3             of all-terrain vehicles; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.4             2000, section 84.922, subdivision 1a. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 84.922, 
  1.7   subdivision 1a, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 1a.  [EXEMPTIONS.] All-terrain vehicles exempt from 
  1.9   registration are: 
  1.10     (1) vehicles owned and used by the United States, the 
  1.11  state, another state, or a political subdivision; 
  1.12     (2) vehicles registered in another state or country that 
  1.13  have not been in this state for more than 30 consecutive days; 
  1.14     (3) vehicles used exclusively by the owner or driver on the 
  1.15  owner's or driver's own property; and 
  1.16     (3) (4) vehicles used exclusively in organized track racing 
  1.17  events. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
