  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to liquor; authorizing the city of St. Paul 
  1.3             to issue on-sale wine and malt liquor licenses to the 
  1.4             Great American History Theater and Flanagan's Wake at 
  1.5             the Palace Theatre; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.6             section 340A.404, subdivision 2b. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 340A.404, 
  1.9   subdivision 2b, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 2b.  [SPECIAL PROVISION; CITY OF ST. PAUL.] The city 
  1.11  of St. Paul may issue an on-sale intoxicating liquor license to 
  1.12  the Fitzgerald Theatre, and on-sale wine and on-sale malt liquor 
  1.13  licenses to the Great American History Theater at 30 East 10th 
  1.14  Street and Flanagan's Wake at the Palace Theatre at 17 West 
  1.15  Seventh Place, notwithstanding the limitations of law, or local 
  1.16  ordinance, or charter provision relating to zoning or school or 
  1.17  church distances.  The license authorizes sales on all days of 
  1.18  the week to holders of tickets for performances presented by the 
  1.19  theatre and to members of the nonprofit corporation holding the 
  1.20  license and to their guests. 
  1.21     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.22     Section 1 is effective upon approval by the St. Paul city 
  1.23  council and compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021.
