  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to housing; appropriating money to the 
  1.3             housing finance agency for Section 8 home ownership 
  1.4             programs. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [GRANTS.] 
  1.7      The housing finance agency shall make grants to agencies 
  1.8   administering the federal Section 8 housing program for 
  1.9   administrative costs associated with the establishment and 
  1.10  operation of Section 8 home ownership programs as provided by 
  1.11  Code of Federal Regulations, title 24, parts 5, 903, and 982.  
  1.12  For purposes of this act, "Section 8" means Section 8 of the 
  1.13  United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.15     $1,000,000 is appropriated to the housing finance agency 
  1.16  from the general fund for transfer to the housing development 
  1.17  fund under Minnesota Statutes, section 462A.20, for the purposes 
  1.18  of section 1, to be available until June 30, 2003.
