  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; providing medical 
  1.3             assistance coverage for certified neonatal nurse 
  1.4             practitioners; amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, 
  1.5             section 256B.0625, subdivision 28. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 256B.0625, 
  1.8   subdivision 28, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 28.  [CERTIFIED NURSE PRACTITIONER SERVICES.] Medical 
  1.10  assistance covers services performed by a certified pediatric 
  1.11  nurse practitioner, a certified family nurse practitioner, a 
  1.12  certified adult nurse practitioner, a certified 
  1.13  obstetric/gynecological nurse practitioner, a certified neonatal 
  1.14  nurse practitioner, or a certified geriatric nurse practitioner 
  1.15  in independent practice, if the services are otherwise covered 
  1.16  under this chapter as a physician service, and if the service is 
  1.17  within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner's license 
  1.18  as a registered nurse, as defined in section 148.171.
