  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for the 
  1.3             commission on national and community service for the 
  1.4             service learning program. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $308,000 in fiscal year 2002 and $308,000 in fiscal year 
  1.8   2003 are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.9   of children, families, and learning for the commission on 
  1.10  national and community service for the service learning 
  1.11  program.  The appropriation is contingent upon the commission 
  1.12  demonstrating to the commissioner that federal matching funds 
  1.13  are available for the service learning program.  This amount is 
  1.14  in addition to any appropriation for the youth works program.  
  1.15  Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is available 
  1.16  in the second year.
