  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; requiring health plan companies to 
  1.3             make health plans available that provide limited 
  1.4             coverage for abortions; proposing coding for new law 
  1.5             in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 62Q. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [62Q.15] [COVERAGE OPTION; LIMITED ABORTION 
  1.8   COVERAGE.] 
  1.9      (a) Each health plan company operating in the individual 
  1.10  market, small group market, or large group market must make 
  1.11  available at least one health plan in each market in which the 
  1.12  health plan company operates that does not provide coverage for 
  1.13  elective, induced abortions, except as medically necessary to 
  1.14  prevent the death of the mother. 
  1.15     (b) Before selling a health plan to a purchaser, a health 
  1.16  plan company must affirmatively offer to the purchaser a health 
  1.17  plan in the purchaser's market that meets the requirements of 
  1.18  paragraph (a).
