A bill for an act
 relating to education finance; providing declining pupil unit aid to Independent
School District No. 38, Red Lake.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin FISCAL YEARS 2008 AND 2009 DECLINING PUPIL UNIT AID,
RED LAKE.

new text begin For fiscal years 2008 and 2009 only, Independent School District No. 38, Red Lake,
is eligible for declining pupil unit aid equal to the greater of zero or the product of the
general education formula allowance times the difference between the district's adjusted
marginal cost pupil units for fiscal year 2005 and the district's adjusted marginal cost
pupil units for that fiscal year. Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 126C.13, the
declining pupil unit aid must be included in calculating the district's general education aid.
