  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the metropolitan airports commission; 
  1.3             directing the commission to provide sound insulation 
  1.4             for preschools in the DNL65. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PRESCHOOL SOUND INSULATION.] 
  1.7      The metropolitan airports commission shall provide sound 
  1.8   insulation to any preschool facility in the 1996 DNL65 noise 
  1.9   contour within one year after the preschool requests sound 
  1.10  insulation.  If the preschool occupies only part of a building, 
  1.11  the commission may limit the sound insulation to the part of the 
  1.12  building used as a preschool.  A "preschool" is a 
  1.13  prekindergarten school that provides classes at least three days 
  1.14  a week. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE; APPLICATION.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective the day after its final enactment 
  1.17  and applies in the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, 
  1.18  Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.
