  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to community development; appropriating money 
  1.3             for summer youth employment. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT.] 
  1.6      $12,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of economic security for summer youth employment 
  1.8   programs, $6,000,000 to be available for the fiscal year ending 
  1.9   June 30, 2000, and $6,000,000 to be available for the fiscal 
  1.10  year ending June 30, 2001.  $1,000,000 of the appropriation for 
  1.11  the fiscal year ending June 30, 2000, is available immediately.  
  1.12  If the appropriation for either year is insufficient, the 
  1.13  appropriation for the other year is available for it. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
