  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the upper Mississippi comprehensive plan. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [MISSISSIPPI HEADWATERS BOARD.] $170,000 in 
  1.7   fiscal year 2002 and $170,000 in fiscal year 2003 are 
  1.8   appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of 
  1.9   natural resources for a grant to the Mississippi headwaters 
  1.10  board for up to 50 percent of the cost of implementing the 
  1.11  comprehensive plan for the upper Mississippi within areas under 
  1.12  the board's jurisdiction. 
  1.13     Subd. 2.  [LEECH LAKE BAND.] $17,000 in fiscal year 2002 
  1.14  and $17,000 in fiscal year 2003 are appropriated from the 
  1.15  general fund to the commissioner of natural resources for 
  1.16  payment to the Leech Lake Band of Chippewa Indians to implement 
  1.17  the band's portion of the comprehensive plan for the upper 
  1.18  Mississippi.
