  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the Red river basin board. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [RED RIVER BASIN BOARD; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $100,000 in fiscal year 2002 and $100,000 in fiscal year 
  1.7   2003 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.8   of natural resources for a grant to the Red river basin board to 
  1.9   continue developing the Red river basin water management plan 
  1.10  and coordinating water management activities in the states and 
  1.11  provinces bordering the Red river.  This appropriation is 
  1.12  available only to the extent it is matched by a proportionate 
  1.13  amount in United States currency from the states of North Dakota 
  1.14  and South Dakota and the province of Manitoba.  The unencumbered 
  1.15  balance in the first year does not cancel but is available for 
  1.16  the second year.  This is a one-time appropriation.
