  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; authorizing grants to the 
  1.3             cities of Breckenridge and East Grand Forks to 
  1.4             reimburse expenses in connection with temporary 
  1.5             financing in anticipation of FEMA financing for 1997 
  1.6             flood recovery projects; appropriating money. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.9      $401,360 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal 
  1.10  year 2001 to the commissioner of trade and economic development 
  1.11  for a grant of $118,615 to the city of Breckenridge and $282,745 
  1.12  to the city of East Grand Forks to reimburse bond interest 
  1.13  expenses in connection with temporary financing in anticipation 
  1.14  of financing by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) 
  1.15  for 1997 flood recovery work in the cities of Breckenridge and 
  1.16  East Grand Forks.  The appropriation does not cancel on June 30, 
  1.17  2001, but is available for the next biennium. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
