  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education funding; correcting a pupil 
  1.3             count for independent school district No. 2155, 
  1.4             Wadena-Deer Creek; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PUPIL COUNT CORRECTION; WADENA-DEER CREEK.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [FREE OR REDUCED PRICE MEAL PUPIL 
  1.8   COUNT.] Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the department 
  1.9   of children, families, and learning must recalculate 
  1.10  compensatory revenue for independent school district No. 2155, 
  1.11  Wadena-Deer Creek, based on the corrected pupil enrollment 
  1.12  information for the October 1996 count of pupils eligible for 
  1.13  free or reduced price meals. 
  1.14     Subd. 2.  [REVENUE RECOGNITION.] Compensatory revenue 
  1.15  received under this section may be recognized in fiscal year 
  1.16  1999 and must be reserved and spent according to Minnesota 
  1.17  Statutes, section 126C.15. 
  1.18     Subd. 3.  [APPROPRIATION.] $111,000 is appropriated in 
  1.19  fiscal year 2000 from the general fund to the commissioner of 
  1.20  children, families, and learning for payment of compensatory 
  1.21  revenue under this section to independent school district No. 
  1.22  2155, Wadena-Deer Creek. 
  1.23     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.24     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
