A bill for an act
relating to gambling; requiring a report on casino machine checks by director
of gambling enforcement; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 299L.02,
subdivision 7.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 299L.02, subdivision 7, is amended to read:


Subd. 7.

Revolving account.

The director shall deposit in a separate account in
the state treasury all money received from Indian tribal governments for charges for
investigations and background checks under compacts negotiated under section 3.9221,
except for $7 from each charge that shall be deposited in the general fund. Money in
the account is appropriated to the director for the purpose of carrying out the director's
powers and duties under those compacts. new text begin The director shall make an annual report to the
legislature by January 15 of each year, specifying the number of checks on casino games
conducted by the state, the results of these checks, and the extent of compliance by casinos
with the provisions of the compacts related to the conduct of casino games.
