  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating funds to 
  1.3             Benton county to pay principal due on bonds issued for 
  1.4             environmental response costs at a mixed municipal 
  1.5             solid waste facility; appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $85,000 in fiscal year 2000 is appropriated to the 
  1.9   pollution control agency for a grant to Benton county to pay the 
  1.10  principal amount due in fiscal year 2000 on bonds issued by the 
  1.11  county to pay part of a final order or settlement of a lawsuit 
  1.12  for environmental response costs at a mixed municipal solid 
  1.13  waste facility.  This money and any future money appropriated 
  1.14  for this purpose must be apportioned by Benton county among the 
  1.15  local units of government that were parties to the final order 
  1.16  or settlement in the same proportion that the local units of 
  1.17  government agreed to as their share of the liability.  This is a 
  1.18  one-time appropriation.
