relating to natural resources; appropriating money for silvicultural research.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $200,000 in fiscal year 2008 and $200,000 in fiscal year 2009 are appropriated
from the general fund to the commissioner of natural resources for a grant to the Natural
Resources Research Institute for silvicultural research to improve the quality and quantity
of timber fiber. The appropriation must be matched in the amount of $200,000 each
year, in cash or in-kind contributions, from the forest products industry members of the
Minnesota Forest Productivity Research Cooperative.
