A bill for an act
relating to health; appropriating money for grants to prevent the spread of HIV.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin HIV PREVENTION GRANTS.

new text begin $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of health for grants to nonprofit organizations for
projects aimed at preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS, targeting communities at high risk
for HIV infection, and for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Grants shall be awarded on
a request for proposal basis and priority shall be given to organizations that have experience
in dealing with issues relating to HIV/AIDS.
