A bill for an act
 relating to natural resources; appropriating money for Victory Memorial Drive
restoration.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; VICTORY MEMORIAL DRIVE.

new text begin $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2010 from the parks and trails fund and $1,000,000 in fiscal
year 2010 from the arts and cultural heritage fund are appropriated to the commissioner of
natural resources for a grant to Hennepin County for the Victory Memorial Drive Historic
District capital project and may be used to:

new text begin (1) restore the original street grid and green space;
 new text end

new text begin (2) redesign the flagpole plaza area;
 new text end

new text begin (3) create new gateway markers at entrances;
new text end

new text begin (4) educate the public on the historical significance of Victory Memorial Drive; and
