  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transit; requiring the metropolitan 
  1.3             council to contract for bus maintenance unless the 
  1.4             council determines that significant cost increases 
  1.5             will result; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota 
  1.6             Statutes, chapter 473.  
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [473.3921] [BUS MAINTENANCE BY CONTRACT.] 
  1.9      The council shall contract with one or more private 
  1.10  entities to perform maintenance services on regular route and 
  1.11  special transportation service buses unless the council 
  1.12  reasonably determines that having private contractors perform 
  1.13  the maintenance services will result in significant increases in 
  1.14  the total cost of bus maintenance.
