  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to human services; increasing funding for 
  1.3             senior nutrition meals; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [SENIOR NUTRITION MEALS.] 
  1.6      For the biennium ending June 30, 2003, $1,000,000 each year 
  1.7   is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of 
  1.8   human services, to be allocated for congregate dining services 
  1.9   and home-delivered meals under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.10  256.975.  An area agency on aging must use its entire allocation 
  1.11  under this section to expand its provision of congregate dining 
  1.12  services and home-delivered meals to eligible senior citizens.  
  1.13  None of this appropriation may be used for administrative 
  1.14  costs.  This appropriation must be added to the base-level 
  1.15  budget for the senior nutrition programs in the 2004-2005 
  1.16  biennial budget.
