  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 126C.10, 
  1.9   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 2.  [BASIC REVENUE.] (a) The basic revenue for each 
  1.11  district equals the sum of: 
  1.12     (1) the formula allowance times the adjusted marginal cost 
  1.13  pupil units for the school year; and 
  1.14     (2) $500 times the number of pupils who have reported to 
  1.15  the superintendent under section 120A.24, subdivision 1.  The 
  1.16  formula allowance for fiscal year 1998 is $3,581.  The formula 
  1.17  allowance for fiscal year 1999 is $3,530.  The formula allowance 
  1.18  for fiscal year 2000 is $3,740.  
  1.19     (b) The formula allowance for fiscal year 2001 and 
  1.20  subsequent fiscal years is $3,964. 
  1.21     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective for revenue for 
  1.22  fiscal year 2002 and later.
