  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to traffic regulations; providing certain 
  1.3             exemptions for seasonal highway weight restrictions; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 169.87, 
  1.5             subdivision 4. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 169.87, 
  1.8   subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4.  [VEHICLE TRANSPORTING MILK, LIVESTOCK, OR 
  1.10  FEED.] (a) Until June 1, 2003, a weight restriction imposed 
  1.11  under subdivision 1 by the commissioner of transportation or a 
  1.12  local road authority, or imposed by subdivision 2, does not 
  1.13  apply to: 
  1.14     (1) a vehicle transporting milk from the point of 
  1.15  production to the point of first processing if, at the time the 
  1.16  weight restriction is exceeded, the vehicle is carrying milk 
  1.17  loaded at only one point of production; 
  1.18     (2) a vehicle delivering animal feed to a farm or other 
  1.19  livestock production facility, whether or not the feed is in a 
  1.20  raw or manufactured state; 
  1.21     (3) a vehicle transporting livestock to a farm or other 
  1.22  livestock production facility for care and rearing; or 
  1.23     (4) a vehicle transporting livestock from a farm or other 
  1.24  livestock production facility to point of slaughter. 
  1.25     (b) This subdivision does not authorize a vehicle described 
  2.1   in this subdivision to exceed a weight restriction of five tons 
  2.2   per axle by more than two tons per axle.
