  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money to 
  1.3             mitigate flooding at Lake of the Isles.  
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $....... is appropriated in fiscal year 2000 from the 
  1.7   general fund to the commissioner of natural resources for a 
  1.8   grant to the Minneapolis park and recreation board to mitigate 
  1.9   flooding at Lake of the Isles in the city of Minneapolis.  Funds 
  1.10  appropriated by this section must be used for shoreline 
  1.11  stabilization and restoration, dredging, wetland replacement, 
  1.12  and other infrastructure improvements necessary to deal with the 
  1.13  1997 flood damage and to prevent future flooding. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
