  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; establishing a comprehensive 
  1.3             advanced life support training program; appropriating 
  1.4             money; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota 
  1.5             Statutes, chapter 144E. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [144E.37] [COMPREHENSIVE ADVANCED LIFE 
  1.8   SUPPORT.] 
  1.9      The board shall establish a comprehensive advanced life 
  1.10  support educational program to train rural medical personnel, 
  1.11  including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and allied 
  1.12  health care providers, in a team approach to anticipate, 
  1.13  recognize, and treat life-threatening emergencies before serious 
  1.14  injury or cardiac arrest occurs. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.16     $206,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.17  emergency medical services regulatory board for the purposes of 
  1.18  section 1, to be available until June 30, 2001.
