relating to agriculture; appropriating money for agriculture related business
assistance; requiring reports.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATIONS.

new text begin (a) $100,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $100,000 in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of agriculture for a grant to Greater Mankato Growth,
Inc., for assistance to agricultural-related businesses to promote jobs, innovation, and
development of a synergy. These appropriations are onetime.

new text begin (b) Greater Mankato Growth, Inc., must report to the commissioner by February 1 of
each year with information on the number of customers served in each county; the number
of businesses started, stabilized, or expanded; the number of jobs created and retained; and
business success rates in each county. By April 1 of each year, the commissioner must report
the information submitted by Greater Mankato Growth, Inc., to the chairs of the legislative
committees with jurisdiction over agriculture and rural development issues.
