A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; authorizing the sale of state bonds; appropriating
money to Independent School District No. 227, Chatfield, for the Potter Center
for the Arts in the city of Chatfield.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $9,105,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to
Independent School District No. 227, Chatfield, to predesign, design, renovate, construct,
furnish, and equip the Potter Center for the Arts in the city of Chatfield. The center
includes the Potter Memorial Auditorium, space for the Chatfield Brass Band Free Music
Lending Library, gallery and museum space, a plaza, and a senior citizen and community
space. The school district may enter into lease and management agreements with the city
and other entities to provide the programs in the center, subject to Minnesota Statutes,
section 16A.695.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in subdivision 1 from
the bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance shall sell and issue bonds of the
state in an amount up to $9,105,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
